694-4108. The New York City Transit Authority is seeking to retain the
services of a contractor to furnish and install security system
upgrades and integrate them with existing security systems at one
facility in Brooklyn and one in Queens. The design for this work has
been prepared by Authority personnel. The security systems at both
locations are composed of a computer-based intrusion detection system,
with coded card access control capability, and a matrix-switcher
controlled CCTV system. Work will include, but not be limited to
furnishing, installing, integrating, upgrading and maintaining: card
readers; cameras; guard booths; motorized rool-up doors and sliding
gate; automatic revolving door; doors and hardware; door controllers;
intercoms; VCRS; leveling platforms; ported-cable sensor system;
router, modems, token ring hub; CCTV matrix switcher expansion cards;
digital time base correctors; file servers; network mangement software;
uninterruptable power supply and generator; electrical panels and
accessories; lighting fixtures; and HVAC units. The project cost is
estimated to be between $1M and $5M with a duration of 24 months from
notice to proceed. Due to the confidentiality of this project, a copy
of the contract document will be issued to only those firms selected by
the Authority based upon the following criteria; Experience in
provdiding high security systems in large, sensitive, limited access
installations, such as banks, Federal Reserves, classified research
facilities, cainos, embassies, etc.; financial status and integrity of
the contractor. The distribution of disciplines for this project is
approximately 50% Security Systems, 25% electrical lighting and power,
15% general construction, and 10% HVAC. Contractors desiring to be
considered to receive a Request for Proposal for this contract must
submit all relevant information by noon, June 13, 1995, referencing
project number W-33725. At minimum, submissions shall include a
description and history of the company, number of employees, skills
matrix, current financial statement, description of representative
projects installed and maintained over three years old and current
projects including contact person and phone number for references,
resumes of lead managerial and technical staff. Contractors who are
selected to receive a copy of the contract documents must agree in
writing to maintain the document and any other sensitive information in
