Acquisition for FIP resources (hardware and software) for the development of local area networks. Includes cable plant, network server and printer environment, and network interface cards for end-user microcomputers. Specific network components include, but are not limited to, various types and sizes of cable, cable connectors, connector boxes, various sizes of hubs (cable plant concentrators), network servers, laser printers, network interface cards, network operating system, and an electronic mail package. This procurement will be set-aside for Indian-owned firms under the ''Buy Indian Act'', 25 U.S.C. 47. Indian firms desiring consideration must be at least 51% Indian-owned. Section 7(b) of P.L. 93-638 (25 U.S.C. 450e) requires that preference opportunities in employment and training be given to Indian/Alaska Native individuals and that preference in award of subcontracts be given to Indian/Alaska Native economic enterprises.
