The equipment will be rebuilt to its original PE rformance specifications and the contractor will provide a new vehicle warranty of the rebuilt vehicles. The effort will be awarded on a 3 year requirements type contrct, and up to 900 D7F and D8'S will be rebuilt. It is proposed to negotiate this requirement on a sole source basis with Caterpillar, Inc. Caterpillar is the original equipment manufacturer of the equipment, owns all rig Hts to the technical data for the equipment and is the only source qualified to perform the rebuild effort and provide a new vehicle warranty to the Government.
