The equipment will be re built to its original performance specifications, and the contractor will provide a new vehicle warranty on the rebuilt vehicles. The effort will be awarded on a 3 year requirements type contract, and up to 160 rtch'S WI LL be rebuilt. It is proposed to negotiate this require Ment on a sole source basis with Caterpillar, Inc. Caterpillar is thee original equipment manufacturer, owns all rights to the technical data for the equipment, and is the only source qualified to perform the rebuild EFF ort and provide a new vehicle warranty to the Government.
