Requirement is for a modular analog system for collection of acoustic (sonar) signals in the ocean. This system is intended to be used aboard sea-going vessels to collect data from the various sonar arrays which the Navy deploys when conducting environmental characteristic measurements. This shall be a VME technology based system with a rack mountable chassis which contains: a power supply; VMEbus card cage; A/D converter cards; amplifier/filter cards; ability to interface with a high-capacity, high-throughput recorder; ability to perform real-time beamforming; an ethernet to host computer interface.--A firm fixed-price requirements type contract is anticipated for a period of four years (base year and three 1-year option periods).--MAX estimated QTY for the four-year period: 2 EA system enclosure; 26 EA 32-channel analog/digital converter card; 26 EA 32-channel amplifier/filter card; 3 EA tape recorder interface card; 11 EA beamformer card; and 11 EA 32-channel digital/analog card.--Options to extend the term of the Contract and for increased quantity-separately priced items will be included.--Specifications will be included with solicitation package. Prospective vendors should request, in writing, a copy of solicitation/RFP No. N00014-95-R-AS04 to be issued approximately 6/7/95 with approximate response 30 days after issuance.
