Requirement is for a sonar instrumentation recording system capable of recording digital data at a minimum rate of 15 Mbytes per second. The system shall have SCSI, parallel, and serial input/output ports. All of the ports shall accommodate (a) a minimum of 20 Mbytes/sec bursts and (2) data throughput to be continuously variable and independent over record and playback. A manual control interface whall be included. The record media shall be data tape cartridges of varying densities.--A firm fixed-price requirements type contract is anticipated for a period of two years (base year and one 1-year option period).--MAX estimated QTY for the two-year period: (1) 2 EA sonar recording systems with cable and documentation; (2) 204 EA of each size cartridges used with the recording system.--Options to extend the term of the Contract and for increased quantity-separately priced items will be included.--Specifications will be included with solicitation package. Prospective vendors should request, in writing, a copy of solicitation/RFP No. N00014-95-R-AS03 to be issued approximately 6/7/95, with approximate response 30 days after issuance.
