607-6905 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS ON GLOBAL COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEM
(GCCS) MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT. Capt. Doug Smith, (703) 607-6905. The
Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Global Command and Control
System (GCCS) Migration Office is responsible for providing assistance
to the Joint Staff in the areas of planning, design, enhancements,
test and evaluation, and maintenance of the GCCS standard systems,
standard applications, other standard software, and configuration
management. Accordingly, a Request for Proposals (RFP) for hardware and
software maintenance, technical support in support of GCCS is being
prepared. Over the life of the contract, GCCS hardware and software is
expected to replace most or all of the current Worldwide Military
Command and Control (WWMCCS) hardware and software. There are currently
51 WWMCCS locations, including North Atlantic Treaty Organization
(NATO) WWMCCS sites, containing a total of 45 mainframes, 32
minicomputers and 70 DataNet 8's. There are currently 60 GCCS worldwide
server locations. Maintenance will include approximately 2000 WWMCCS
Workstations in approximately 120 locations as well as TEMPEST and
Non-TEMPEST IBM (and modified IBM) Personal Computers. WWMCCS
Workstations are Honeywell packaged Macinotsh computers with removable
hard drives running Apple UX. The Government contemplates a firm,
fixed-price, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, of
one-year in duration with four (4) additional one-year options. The
WWMCCS is comprised of an extensive network of Bull mainframes and
minicomputers, interconnected by Bull-proprietary software (not
included in this acquisition), IBM compatible terminals and printers,
and Honeywell/Macintosh WIS Workstations. The Unix-based GCCS servers
(currently Sun Microsystem 1000 and 2000, but may later include other
manufacturer makes and models) are located on command and control local
area networks and are interconnected via the Secure IP router network
(SIPRNET). Parties interested in receiving a copy of the RFP (to be
issued on or after 12 JUN 1995) are requested to provide written
requests referencing the RFP number to Capt Doug Smith at the above
address. Requests may be faxed to (703) 607-4340 or 4341. Respondents
to the previously issued RFI and draft RFP will automatically be sent
the RFP. The Government intends to make the RFP available
electronically via the DABBS bulletin board by dialing (618) 256-9200.
Communications parameters are 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and 1200 -
