Ruth Ann Maris The National Institute of Standards and Technology
(NIST) intends to negotiate a contract to furnish and install a high
performance, research-level field-emission scanning electron microscope
(FESEM) system. The FESEM system will be required to image and analyze
nanoparticles and structures with dimensions less than 100 nanometers.
In addition, the instrument will be an integral part of ongoing
programs that include particle characterization, automated and
telepresence microscopy, Standard Reference Materials certification,and
materials Analysis. The instrument shall provide the highest quality
electron optical performance/image quality coupled with analytical
capabilities for quantitative analysis by energy dispersive x-ray
spectrometry. NIST also reserves the right for the contractor to
furnish and install an x-ray detector and Automation System. Delivery
required Freight on Board (FOB) destination, Gaithersburg, MD. Delivery
