Laboratory (ARL) Survivability/Lethality Analysis Directorate, Aberdeen
Proving Ground, MD intends to solicit contractors for Survivability
Analysis Support. This requirement was previously synopsized and
solicited as W71B7J-95-R- 2001. All offerors responding to
W71B7J-95-R-2001 need not respond to this synopsis, a copy of the
solicitation will be furnished upon issuance. The potential contract is
for support the Government requires in carrying out its mission in the
areas of survivability, lethality, and vulnerability of Army and
selected foreign systems. The requirements entail providing support in
the development, documentation, staffing, and maintenance of the Army
Systems Survivability Strategy (TASSS) plan. The Battlefield
Functional Mission Areas (FMAs) to be addressed under the contemplated
contract are Air Defense/Theater Missile Defense, Fire Support, Close
Combat Light, Close Combat Heavy, C3I, Intelligence Electronic
Warfare, Soldier, Aviation, Chemical, Biological, and Nuclear Effects.
The typical systems, although not all inclusive, in these FMAs are
PATRIOT, THAAD, GBR, GBS, Corps SAM, Stinger, Avenger, Comanche, Apache
Longbow Helicopter, Kiowa Warrior, UAV, (MCS), MSE, SINCGARS, GPS,
Battlefield Combat Identification System, JSTARS/GSM, Firefinder,
AFAS/FARV, AGS, Abrams tank systems, Bradley, C2V, SADARM, BAT,
Hellfire Longbow missile, Javelin, LOSAT, and WAM. The proposed
contract is expected to be a cost-plus-fixed-fee, level of effort type
contract in direct support of the FMAs addressed above. The period of
performance is for a three year basic contract with two one-year
options. The standard industrial classification (SIC) code for this
requirement is 8711. Those firms that responded to the Sources Sought
Synopsis and the Solicitation Release Synopsis for W71B7J-95-R-2001
need not respond again. Firms interested in receiving a Request For
Proposal must submit their requests in writing to Army Research
