The 38 Logistics Squadron intends to issue a sole source Communication Service Authorization for local telephone service for the MAINE ANG FACILITIES AT BANGOR IAP AND PORTLAND ANGS, ME. The intended contractor is NEW ENGLAND TELEPHONE CO, DBA NYNEX. NEW ENGLAND TELEPHONE CO, DBA NYNEX shall provide the following services: (1) Commercial trunks and commercial business lines, for common user dial service within the local exchange area. (2) Inter/Intra Exchange Channel/Mileage from the base to various off premise locations throughout the local exchange area. The period of performance shall be five years from the date of contract award. The primary place of performance will be the MAINE ANG FACILITIES AT BANGOR IAP AND PORTLAND ANGS, ME. This acquisition is conducted under the Air Force's regulatory delegation of GSA's exclusive procurement authority for Federal Information Processing (FIP) resources. This sole source acquisition is justified under 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1). NEW ENGLAND TELEPHONE CO, DBA NYNEX is the only local exchange carrier (LEC) who has the approval of the Public Utilities Commission at each location above to provide the required telephone service within the Local Access and Transport Area (LATA).
