has a competitive requirement for the continued maintenance of the
Northern Telecom SL-l telephone system at the Western Program Service
Center (WEPSC) in the Richmond, California. SSA requires the upgrade of
the SL-1 and Meridian Mail system to the latest software release of
hardware and software, including ACD software upgrade without telephone
set replacement. SSA also requires onsite maintenance support through
an onsite telecommunications technician for the principle period of
maintenance. The contract will provide training, telephone relocations
including cabling and the acquisition and installation of additional
telephone equipment and accessories. To be acceptable, offerors must
have access to associated equipment, accessories and spare parts, be
able to provide onsite technicians who are fully trained and
knowledgeable of each system component. Only written request for
solicitation number SSA-RFP-96-2537 will be accepted 21 days from the

965-9560. The RFP is scheduled for release on or about June 15, 1995
with proposals due 30 days after issuance of the RFP. The resultant
contract will contain a basic one year period with six one year options
