66 -- DELIVER AND INSTALL PYROLYSIS INSTRUMENTS AT VNIGNI, MOSCOW, RUSSIA AND ZAPSIBNIGNI, TYUMEN, RUSSIA SOL 8168 DUE 060996 POC Ms. Cindy Sather (703) 648-7361 (contact) Ms. Kathy Craig (703) 648-7357 (CO) The U.S. Geological Survey intends to issue a solicitation for the delivery and installation of a pyrolysis instruments to the All Russian Geological Research and Petroleum Exploration Institute, Moscow, Russia and one to the West Siberian Research Institute for Petroleum Geology (ZAPSIBNIGNI), Tyumen, Russia, as part of the US Agency for International Development to Russia program. The instrument shall be capable of thermal extraction and pyrolysis of small (MG quantities) geological samples with user-defined temperature programming rates and upper temperature of at least 600OC. It shall include complete computer control of instrument operation and monitoring, acquisition of data, and reduction of data. The software shall include the capability for graphical presentation of results and tabulation of results for database storage. The thermally extracted hydrocarbons (i.e. product obtained from pyrolysis temperatures from room temperature to approximately 250oC) and pyrolytic hydrocarbons (high temperature products) shall be automatically calculated and reported separately. It shall automatically determine and report temperature maximum rate of pyrolytic hydrocarbon generation (''TMAX''). It shall include autosampler with minimum 40 sample capability. It shall include a spare parts kit, reference kit and a reference manual. Installation, training and on-site warranty in Tyumen, Russia shall be included. Equipment shall be shipped via a Government Bill of Lading through Matrix, International, Inc., Alexandria, VA.
