70 -- PURCHASE OF SOFTWARE LICENSE FOR TALARIAN RTSNMP VERSION 2 TO RUN WI TH RTWORKS SOL RFQ5-09919/037 POC Hasani Martin, Contract Specialist, 301-286-7467 Leigh Anne Giraldi, Contracting Officer, 301-286-4962. This requirement is for the purchase and maintenance of Talarian RTsnmp version 2 to run with RTworks software package, from Talarian Corporation located in Mountainview, CA. A purchase order will be awarded subsequent to the issuance of a Request for Quotation (RFQ). Installation and maintenance of the software shall be performed at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) located in Greenbelt, MD. The following will be purchased from and maintained by Talarian: a. on demand GET b. GETTABLE or GETNEXT c. setting multiple SNMP variables d. Parse GET_RESPONSE PDU e. Parse TRAP PDU f. RTie to RTsnmp direct access g. RTie RTsnmp access via RTdaq h. User-defined message translation to PDU i. Command-line GETANY, SETANY, GETTABLE, TRAPSEND, and TRAPRCV j. Full documentation and one year of maintenance support for RTsnmp. The Talarian Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) interface has been selected as the standard environment for the NASA Communication Division (NASCOM) Facility and Resource Manager (FARM). Since Talarian software is currently being used to support NASCOM, this product is required for integration with the existing network. RTsnmp is required to complete the integrated suite of software and provide the standard SNMP interfaces for the Nascom's network management. The Talarian products were the only software suite that could provide an integrated environment for all three areas required. There are no other software products which can be integrated in NASCOM without significant compatibility, integration, training costs, and or development time. Talarian SNMP 2.0 is a proprietary product, and the Government does not have rights to the source code. The above Talarian product is compatible with installed Talarian software at GSFC. Since Talarian products are proprietary it is anticipated that no other firms are available to deliver and maintain these products. All responsible sources may respond to the synopsis by submitting a written narrative statement of capability, including detailed technical information and other technical literature, demonstrating the ability to meet the requirement.
