70 -- HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE FOR GOVERNMENT OWNED OCR SYSTEMS POC Dolores Hogan, Contracting Officer, (202) 283-1320 FAX (202) 283-1519. This is notice of the Internal Revenue Services' intent to issue a two-year extension to Recognition International, Inc. for the Mulifont Optical Character Recognition Systems located in seven (7) of the Internal Revenue Service Centers. A contract extension from July 1, 1995 to June 30, 1997 will continue these services until full implementation of the Service Center Recognition Image Processing System (SCRIPS) is completed. Maintenance is to be provided for the REI Input 8 (I80) Scanner subsystem and Tartan Terminal Re-entry subsystem with entry terminals. The I-80 system uses APPS and Harris PC6 Assembler languages; the Tartan subsystem uses DAta Entry language Cobol Intel-80 Assembler and a Cobol-like language for batch and edit programs. Maintenance services include the basic on-call (response within 2 hours). The Principal Period of Maintenance (PPM) covers 9 consecutive hours between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. Extended coverage is outside the PPM. The coverage options are exercised to help insure system operability during peak workload periods. Sources responding to this notice must submit sufficient technical data so that a technical evaluation can be performed to determine the offeror's equivalency to this requirement and be capable of providing the total requirement set forth in this announcement. If no responses are received in regard to this notice, the Contracting Officer will proceed to negotiate with Recognition International, Inc. See Note 22 (0143)
