services of a Professional Electrical Engineer to furnish the design,
prepare construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, furnish
PC workstation with software and furnish construction period services
for Project #678-94-101, Replace Fire Alarm System at the VA Medical
Center, Tucson AZ. This project encompasses replacement of the existing
fire alarm system with a new Class ''B'', Local Building System in
Buildings 57, 38, 50, 2, 58, 37, 3, 4 and 1, upgrading existing Local
Building Fire Alarm Systems in Buildings 30, 60, and 67, upgrading the
Fire Alarm System in Buildings 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, and 13, upgrading the
Fire Alarm System in Buildings 5 and 6, upgrading the Fire Alarm
System in Buildings 56, 59, and 66 and upgrading the VA Base Loop Fire
Alarm System. In addition to Note #24, the following are minimum
requirements: A. The engineer responsible for the work on this project
shall possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
from a University with accreditation of the Electrical Engineering
curriculum as a professional engineering curriculum by the
Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). B. The
engineer shall be currently registered in the State of Arizona as a
Proefessional Engineer in Electrical Engineering. C. The Engineer shall
have completed the design of at least one Fire Alarm system of similiar
complexity that has been sucessfully installed and operated within the
past four years. D. The Electrical Engineer responsible for this
project shall be a full time employee of the Engineering Company hired
for the project. E. All contract drawings shall be prepared by a
designer or draftsperson who possesses a minimum of three years
experience in the preparation of construction drawings using AUTOCAD
computer-aided drafting systems. F. The Electrical Engineer's normal
place of business shall be LOCATED WITHIN 60 MILES OF THE VAMC, TUCSON
AZ. Submittals of SF 254 and SF255 must be received in this office not
later than 6/29/95, 4pm local time. This is not a request for proposal.
