Officer, (301) 443-1301 The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is
soliciting proposals from qualified organizations having in-house
capability to develop materials for and respond to inquiries from a
state- of-the-art NIDA information dissemination system that will
include fax-on-demand service as well as response to inquiries via
non-bulk mailings. The telephone and telefax system will be provided by
the Government under the FTS 2000 contract. Organizations submitting
proposals should demonstrate extensive experience in public health
communications and a high understanding of the capabilities and
services from, and products available through, state-of-the-art
fax-on-demand systems. Specifically, organizations submitting should be
capable of providing whatever staff and effort are necessary to: (1)
provide English and Spanish versions of recorded menus and messages and
print materials disseminated (e.g., pamphlets, brochures, and fact
sheets and other brief information pieces); (2) provide quick response
to information requests unable to be fulfilled directly by the fax
system (e.g., mailings) (3) create, through computer graphics, a
readily identifiable design for this NIDA service; (4) write and/or
edit, as well as translate into Spanish, scientific material in
language easly understood by a broad variety of publics; (5) ensure
operability of the fax-on-demand system at 99% efficiency. The
contractor shall (1) demonstrate experience in developing marketing
strategies and producing marketing and advertising materials; (2)
demonstrate extensive experience in public health communications; (3)
demonstrate high understanding of the best and most comprehensive
options from the FTS 2000 contract. It is estimated that a three year,
cost-reimbursement contract will result from this requirement. This
