Wildlife Service has the need for establishing a repeatable database
supporting instream water rights for important lakes within the Yukon
Flats National Wildlife Refuge. Using differential Global Positioning
System (GPS) technlogy, establish the elevations of 50 or more
lakes/wetlands, the lakes are scattered over a substantial area
(roughly 50 x miles). Data should be obtained in a manner so that the
pertinent portion of the refuge is on a consistent reliable control
network to facilitate development of water rights actions. Field work
must be conducted before snow covers the ground freezes. Following
completion of field work, three months will be allowed for
post-processing data and completion of the necessary report. This is a
natural data collection project for resource management purposes. The
location of the work is on the Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge,
Fairbanks, Alaska. Estimated Cost Range: Between $25,000 and $100,000.
