FISC, Norfolk Detachment, Washington, has a requirement for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Detachment to procure a drop weight impact testing machine, variable weight (600 - 2000 pounds), instrumented TUP type. FISCNORDETWASH intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with GRC Instruments of Santa Barbara, California, for its Dynatup 8140 model machine. The equipment shall consist of, but is not limited to the following principal components, attachments and accessories: base and column, guide columns, crosshead and lift mechanism, operator control station, remote control station, velocity detector, safety enclosure, instrumented TUP (with 225KIP load capacity), TUP inserts (1/2'' radius striker, 1'' radius striker), impact test data acquisition system, and system components (data acquisition and recorder board, velocity measuring and trigger unit, connecting cables, interface board, software). On-site training at the receiving activity must be provided. Anticipated destination: Carderock, Maryland. All responsible sources may respond.
