The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Detachment Washington D.C. intends to release a package for comment for the purchase of BOQ, BEQ, and barrack furnishings (to include: furniture, carpeting, bedspreads, curtains, wall hangings and lamps) based on a total room purchasing concept. The requirement will be for a fixed price IDIQ type solicitation. FISCDETWASH anticipates a multiple award to approximately three or more vendors, with emphasis being placed on industry's ability to team with other players in the same and related industrys. This teaming will allow for a substantial representation of manufacturers and will grant offerors the ability to supply a variety of room types. The purpose of this future Request for Information is to receive comments from contractors having experience in the field to discuss the feasibility issues surrounding the establishing of a total room concept requirement and the teaming of manufacturers. The forecasted distribution date of the Request for Information is currently 26 June 1995, but may be subject to change.
