RESEARCH INTEREST: Proposal are sought for the development and demonstration of maufacturing processes and equipment for the low cost of nonmetalic lithium-ion rechargeable spirally wound cells for military battery cofigurations. These processes may be adaptations of existing commercial processes and equipment or may be of new design. The result of this effort will create a non-metalic lithium-ion rechargeable battery production line capable of producing batteries with better characteristcs than current nickel-based technology.
