The Minerals Management Service (MMS) has a requirement for several drifting buoys and related apparatus in support of its ocean circulation and oil spill trajectory modeling studies. The types of equipment required have been used previously by MMS and other oceanographic investigators, and are known to reliably return oobservations useful to MMS's oil spill risk assessment analyses.
