70 -- GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE (GUI) FOR THE CORE AUTOMATED MAINTENANCE SYSTEM (CAMS) POC Capt. Matheson, Point of Contact, 334-416-1254. The Maintenance Systems Division (HQ SSG/LGM) is seeking information to develop a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for the Core Automated Maintenance System (CAMS). The information provided will be used to determine whether or not resources are available to accomplish all tasks in-house or if a solicitation should be issued. CAMS is a base-level maintenance data collection system that resides on a Unisys 2200 hardware platform with a nonstandard operating system. The information requested should support the CAMS GUI effort. The intent is to minimize if not negate the need for any change to the existing CAMS host software. Desired capabilities for a CAMS GUI include the ability to provide: handling unsuccessful transactions with CAMS, detecting when CAMS is unavailable, storing updates and forwarding these updates when CAMS becomes available, reducing the amount of data entry needed by prefilling information based on the user's identification, on-line help, and interoperability with other COTS desktop products. Software packages should utilize personal computer hardware (available on the Government Desktop IV contract), and have demonstrable growth possibilities to accommodate follow-on requirements, and open architectures which permit system extensibility and component replacement/upgrades without significant redesign. Your response should address architectural considerations, programming languages supported and proposed development tools, estimated rough order of magnitude (no detailed cost/pricing data), a capabilities statement, technical literature, and any quasi-solutions. Proprietary data should be clearly marked as such. This is a Request for Information only.
