Officer at (404)842-6789 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC) contemplates award of one or two contracts to 1) determine the
frequency and risk factors for bloodstream infections in home infusion
therapy patients and 2) estimate the frequency of and assess risk
factors for percutaneous, mucus membrane, and cutaneous contact with
blood sustained by home health care personnel during the delivery of
infusion therapy. ABSOLUTE CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY: Contractors must
1) have access to home infusion therapy patients and have the ability
to collect data from such patients receiving intravenous infusion
therapy at home and personnel providing this infusion therapy; 2)
provide home infusion therapy; 3) provide home nursing services related
to home infusion therapy, including phlebotomy; and 4) provide a
minimum of 8,000 central venous catheter-days of services per year (a
central venous catheter-day is defined as one patient with a central
venous catheter for one day). Written requests for copies of the
solicitation will be honored if received within 15 days of the RFP
issue date, which will be on or about June 15, 1995. Requests received
after that date will be furnished on a first-come-first-served basis
until the RFP supply is exhausted. The date specified for receipt of
proposals will be approximately 35 days after the RFP issue date.
Requests for copies of the solicitation must be in writing, and must
cite the RFP number. Telephone requests will not be accepted. All
responsible sources that meet the above stated ABSOLUTE CRITERIA FOR
ELIGIBILITY may a submit a proposal which shall be considered by the
