70 -- PLATINUM SOFTWARE UPGRADE SOL W33333A3 DUE 071495 POC Contact Point, Angela Edwards, (202)260-3167, Contracting Officer, Stuart Toleman, (202)260-7996 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency intends to negotiate a contract with Platinum Technology, Inc. as the sole-source provider of a software upgrade for the following Platinum software product previously maintained by Platinum on the Agency's mainframe IBM 9021-900. The software upgrade is for the software product entitled, ''Report Facility - TSO.'' This software product is being transferred to the Agency's new mainframe IBM 9021-9X2 CPU. Currently, no solicitation is available. All interested parties must respond within 45 calendar days of the date of this announcement. Responses from responsible sources must be in writing and shall include information on the proposed services which clearly supports the requirement above, including being able to install the upgrade of the above mentioned software and provide itemized pricing. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the contracting officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. Any such solicitation will be issued to Platinum Technology and all firms that respond to this synopsis of intent or otherwise request a copy of the solicitation.
