The US Environmental Protection Agency has a requirement for a contractor to conduct a two-phased program for the detection of trichloroethylene (TCE) and its metabolites in biological samples. The first phase will consist of the adaptation of published methods or development of new methods to detect TCE and its metabolites. The first phase will last approximately six months. Phase Two will consist of utilizing the approved methods to detect TCE and its metabolites in blood, brain, fat and liver samples. The sample analysis period will last approximately three years. It is anticipated that Phase I will be conducted on a cost-plus-fixed-fee basis. The sample analysis will be conducted on an fixed price indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity basis. The Government estimates that no more than 600 samples will be analyzed over the three year period, with a maximum of 400 blood samples, 140 brain samples, 30 fat samples and 30 liver samples. It is anticipated that solicitation D500502M1 will be released on or around June 30, 1995, and that proposals will be due approximately 30 days after issuance. Interested parties may obtain a copy of the solicitation by submitting a written request. A copy of the source list will be included with the solicitation. FAX and telephone requests for the solicitation will not be honored. A limited number of copies is available. Only one copy shall be issued to a corporate entity regardless of the number of requests from one or more different geographic locations. Copies will be issued on a first come first serve basis.
