Contact, Linda L. Round, Contracting Officer, 202/273-2700. The
Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts is conducting a competitive
procurement to acquire contractor services for proofreading,
typesetting, printing, copying, and distribution of Judges' slip
opinions from the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit
located in Richmond, VA. Offerors must be able to receive daily
electronic transmissions of court opinions in WordPerfect format;
proofread the opinions using a skilled proofreader and an attorney who
is familiar with federal appellate decisions, identifying errors in
the English language construction and usage as well as errors in
citations and other legal usage; typeset, print, and copy the opinions
according to Government provided specifications; distribute copies of
the opinions to the court and court provided mailing lists on a weekly
basis and in quantities specified; provide diskettes with both ASCII
and WordPerfect 5.1 versions of the opinions to the court along with
the court's copies of the opinions; convert, once a year, the court's
opinions of the previous year to CD ROM; and other related services.
The court will render approximately 1,600 opinions in Fiscal Year 1996
which will amount to a total of approximately 11,000 pages. For each
separate opinion, approximately 600 copies are required to satisfy the
needs of the court and its subscribers. The resulting contract will be
a firm fixed-price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quanity (IDIQ)
contract. The term of the contract will be one year with options for
the Government to extend four additional one year periods. Award will
be made to a single offeror whose proposal is technically acceptable
and offers the lowest cost to the Government. There is currently an
incumbent contractor who is not prohibited from competing under this
solicitation. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall

signed letter. Requests should be received no later than 15 days from
date of this synopsis and must reference Solicitation No.
USCA-95-R-007. The solicitation should be issued on or about June 30,
