66 -- ACCELEROGRAPH, GPS AND ACCESSORIES SOL RFP 2064 POC Contact Point, Warren Saul, Contracting Officer, USGS, Branch of Procurements and Contracts, 345 Middlefield Road - MS285, Menlo Park, CA 94025-3591 The U.S. Geological Survey has a requirement for the acquisition of twelve Altus K-2 Digital, 4-channel (expandable to 12 channels) Accelerographs (with +2g. internal triaxial FBA-type sensors), twelve GPS receivers with antennas and cable, provision for a modem and 5mb flash memory card. The USGS intends to acquire these units on a Brand Name or Equal Basis. Salient characteristics of the Altus K-2 accelerographs are: (1)System Accuracy: q 0.01g for any axis and a 'dynamic system accuracy of q2% on an RMS basis, (2)System Response (at 200 SPS): Nominally flat (q 3db) from DC to 50hz (3)System Noise: Overall noise shall be ( the equivalent of 1 digit count of a 18 bit system on a RMS basis in the frequency range of 0.01 to 50 hz, (4)Temperature Stability: ( q 0.06% per degree C. for an operating temperature range -10C to +60C, (5)Humidity and waterproof: Operate in conditions of 100% humidity and remain waterproof IAW NEMA Standards Pub. 250 for type 6P enclosures, (6)Sys. Dynamic Range: Min. 108 db at ( 6 db noise without auto. gain ranging, (7) Auto Zeroing of DC Level: Auto zeroing must be user cancelable, (8)DC-Level Drift: Daily drift (after removing temperature effects) ( q60 digital counts and a cumulative drift ( q180 digital counts over 5 days (auto zeroing turned off), (9)External Sensors Input: the accelerograph shall have a connector for external triaxial sensor, (10)Automatic Data Download: system shall be capable of initiating communication with external computers when an event is detected or if auto- diagnostic failure occurs, (11)Resolution shall be 18-bit or greater at 200 SPS.
