CONFERENCE, PARTNERSHIPS, AND TECHNOLOGY, 7-9 AUGUST, SANTA CLARA, CA.
The Northern California Chapter of the National Security Industrial
Association (NSIA) is sponsoring the third annual satellite command and
control conference in coordination with Air Force Space and Missile
Systems Center and NASA. The conference will be held August 7-9 at the
Westin Hotel, 5101 Great America Parkway, Santa Clara, CA 94054, (408)
986-0700. Conference objectives are to foster communication between
government, industry and academia involved in satellite command and
control, provide opportunities for technology sharing and building
public/private partnerships, identify technology needs and emerging
technologies, and focus attention on user's needs. Topics will include:
a ``Program Track'' featuring guest speakers and panel discussions, a
``Technical Track'' featuring paper presentations describing new and
innovative technology applications, and a ``Product Track'' providing
an opportunity for companies to present new prducts or describe the
features of their existing product lines. Invited speakers include:
NSIA President James R. Hogg, ADM, USN (ret), LGEN Lester Lyles,
Commander of AF/SMC, MGEN William Jones, Commander of 14th AF, LGEN Jay
Garner, Commander US Army Space and Strategic Defense Command, Dr. Ken
Munechika, Director NASA Ames, Col Richard Davis, Commander Phillips
Lab, Mr. Douglas Dwyre, Globalstar. Exhibits space is available for a
$500 fee. Morning and afternoon session breaks will be held in the

include a golf tournament on August 7 and an IMAX film presentation of
``Destiny in Space'' with free attendance at Paramount's Great America
theme park. A block of rooms has been reserved for $79.00 per night at
the Westin Hotel. This rate is only available through July 6.
Conference registration fee is $325 for NSIA member companies, $360 for
non-member companies, $275 for active government personnel (DD1556s
accepted before July 7), and $380 walk in registration. For further
