Gibson, (310)297-1917 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has a requirement for 20 usable acres of land on a nearly rectangular or square plot. The FAA is looking for free or low cost Government or non-Government land to construct a new Air Traffic Control Facility within a 30 mile radius of the existing facility at McClellan Air Force Base. The 20 acres of land will be required to accommdate a building of about 75,000 square feet, plus, a child care center. The facility will provide radar approach control services for airports in the Northern California area. Land for the facility needs to be 5 miles from a major freeway interchange, with direct road access to the site. Major utilities such as; electrical power, water, sewer, telephone, and natural gas must be nearby without substantial additional cost required. Land can be moderately sloping to flat terrain, not subject to localized flooding. Site to be in a low crime area. Subsurface soil capable of supporting economical foundations required. Land to be more than 1/4 mile from 100 year flood plain, with no major earthquake faults within 20 miles. Land not to include; endangered species of plants or wildlife, nor located on wetlands. The site must contain no former history of hazardous material use, no contamination of ground water sources, and no historical impact. Site must have an unobstructed view to the horizon from SE to SW, and have minimum potential for radio frequency interferences. Site is to be in non-urban, quality low density office or light industrial area, with good local air quality, no negative noise, odor or aesthetic impacts. Area to include good schools, shopping, and commercial services nearby. No multiple owners or unclear titles for the land offered.
