wings of the headquarters building for the North Carolina Air National
Guard (NCANG), Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, Charlotte, NC.
The east wing (4,300 square feet) will be remodeled for various
internal office spaces. The west wing (3,700 square feet) will house
the Consolidated Base Personnel Office. Both of these wings will be
reconfigured for an open office concept with the use of pre-wired
office furniture groupings creating separation between work sections.
The project will include complete demolition of existing interior
walls, electrical, ceiling, flooring, and exposing all existing
structural systems. The new construction will include installation of
some new metal stud interior partition walls, furring out, drywall
installation, finishing of existing exterior masonry walls,
installation of ceiling grid system, and new carpeting. The new
electrical, telephone and data lines will be installed in raceways
above the ceiling, as well as in the exterior and new interior
partition walls, to maximize the flexibility of systems furniture
layout. New lighting will be installed in accordance with the layout in
the drawings. Branch line duct work for the HVAC will be realigned with
the new spaces and return grilles installed to efficiently control all
air conditioned spaces. The completion time for this project is 180
calendar days. Official written request for information should refer to
IFB: DAHA31-95-B-0003, ``Repair Headquarters, Building #2, Phase I'',
PN: FJRP942058A. This procurement is being considered for 100%
set-aside for Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) concerns. Interested
SDBs should respond as early as possible, but not later than 15
calendar days after publication of the notice. Respondents should
indicate interest in bidding as the prime or as a subcontractor on the
project, show evidence of capability to perform including references
for similar work with contract numbers, points of contact, telephone
numbers and a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and
economically disadvantaged business concern. In addition, dollar amount
of current construction bonding capability is required. If adequate
interest is not received from qualified SDB concerns, the solicitation
will be issued on an unrestricted basis without further notice.
Therefore, replies to this notice are requested from all interested
business concerns as well as from SDB concerns. Replies must indicate
the firm's size status such as large business, small business, small
disadvantaged business or 8(a). The Standard Industrial Classification
(SIC) is 1542. The applicable small business size standard including
affiliates is no more than $17.0M average annual revenue for the
previous three years. The successful contractor will perform a minimum
of 20% of cost of the contract with its own employees not including
