``Add/Alter Fire Station''. The North Carolina Air National Guard
(NCANG), 5225 Morris Field Drive, Charlotte, NC has a requirement to
renovate and construct an addition to existing base fire station.
Renovation work shall consist of demolition of existing partition walls
to accommodate new vehicle bays, replacement of existing overhead bay
doors with exterior mounted roll up doors, refurbishment of interior
finishes, interior painting and replacement of some equipment. Other
work will include renovation of electrical service, demolition and
rework of mechanical HVAC system, installation of new duct and climate
control devices. Building exterior shall be recaulked. New
construction shall consist of 1,400 square feet of masonry exterior
walls, metal studded interior partitioned drywall and a single ply
membrane roof. Completion time for project is 180 calendar days.
Official request for information must be in writing and refer to IFB
DAHA31-95-B-0002. This procurement is 100% set-aside for Small
Disadvantaged Business. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 1542. Bid
opening is tentatively scheduled on/about 13 July 1995. Invitation for
Bids (IFB) will be issued to potential prime contractors (excluding
subcontractors, consultants and material suppliers) on a first-received
first served basis until supply is exhausted. A bid deposit of $90.00
is required in the form of a certified bank check, cashiers check or
money order payable to ``Finance and Accounting Officer, Shaw AFB''.
Deposits will be refunded provided the drawings, specificatons are
returned, transportation prepaid, in good condition without marks,
notes, or mutilations; to the issuing office within 30 calendar days of
bid opening. The successful offeror must perform no less than 20
percent of contract cost with his own work force, excluding the cost of
