COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 2,1995 PSA#1359

Air Base System Division (ASC/VXOK), 314 W. Choctawhatchee Ave., Suite 103 Eglin AFB FL

41 -- FAN, AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSER POC ELAINE FRYBACK, CONTRACT SPECIALISTS, 904/882-4685 EXT 139. Aeronautical Systems Center, Weapons, Air Base and Range Product Support Organization, 314 West Choctawhatchee Avenue, Eglin AFB, FL 32542-5717. The Government is seeking sources for the potential procurement of comercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) fans to be used in the condenser section of the Field Deployable Environmental Control Unit. The fan desired is an axial flow design, not greater than 24 inches in diameter. It should be strong, light weight, quiet, and highly efficient. The following are some of the required performance requirements of the fan: At 1160 RPM with a static pressure of 0.40 inches of water, the airflow should be 3750 cubic feet per minute, motor shaft power should be 370 watts, producing a noise level of 78 dBa at 1 meter/30 axially. At 1160 RPM with a static pressure of 0.0 inches of water, the airflow should be 5175 cubic feet per minute, motor shaft power should be 320 watts, producing a noise level of 76 dBa at 1 meter/30 axially. The weight of the fan should not exceed 4 lbs and should remain structurally viable at 1200 rpm. To fit in the designed location the clearance from the face of the fan back to the blade (axial dimension) at the hub can not exceed 2.5 inches and at end of the blade can not exceed 1.375 inches. The maximum depth of the hub should be less than 4.75 inches. The fan should fit on a 0.5 inch motor hub. The diameter of the hub must be at least 7.0 inches across allowing the fan motor to be recessed into the hub 2.25 inches. The fan should have provisions for providing some cooling air for the fan motor itself. A graph of similar fan performance can be obtained via facsimile transmission by calling Mr. Jim Stiles at 904-882-5409, Ext. 164. Responses, due not later than Noon, 19 June 1995, must contain the supplier's part number, a dimensioned drawing of the proposed fan and a graph of fan performance test results. All responses should include a statement whether the firm is a small or disadvantaged business as defined in FAR 52.219-1 and 52.219-2. (0151)
