Edwards, (317)353-3616, Contracting Officer, FAX Number, (317)353-3066 The purpose of this synopsis is to provide notice of a pre-solicitation conference and availability of a draft Statement of Work and draft specifications for the procurement of Survival Radio Systems. This system will consist of modifying the Navys existing AN/PRC-112(V) survival radios, to add a Global Positioning Systems Navigation Capabilities and provide an associated interrogation unit which is compatible with the existing ARS-6 communication equipment in the Search and Rescue Aircraft. Total quantity required is for 1000 each radios and 16 each interrogation units to be provided in the base year of the contract and will include 3 option years requiring modification of an additional 1000 each radios and 12 each interrogation unit each option period. First articles and various associated data items are also required. To acquint prospective offerors with a better understanding of the complex nature of this requirement, a pre-solicitation conference is being held on Wednesday, 14 June, 1995 at the Quality Inn East, located at 3525 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. The conference will be in the upstairs ''Terrace Room''. The conference time is scheduled from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. A maximum degree of competition is desire. All interested firms are invited to respond to Ms. Elizabeth Edwards, 2.1.4-MS-45, Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Indianapolis, 6000 E. 21st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46219-2189. No more than 2 representatives from each company are to attend. Any and all draft documents will be mailed two days prior to the conference along with an agenda of the conference.
