purpose of this synopsis is twofold. The first purpose is to
readvertise the requirement for OPP Technical Support and Equipment
Maintenance Support Services. The second purpose is to notify
prospective offerors that this procurement will be conducted via EPA's
Public Access Server and provide instructions accordingly. The
original synopsis for this requirement was published in the Commerce
Business Daily on February 24, 1995 under solicitation number 95-03.
The new solicitation number is W500632A3. Prospective offerors
responding to the original CBD notice will remain on the bidder's
mailing list. New prospective offerors are encouraged to request a copy
of the solicitation electronically using internet address
LONG.BRIAN@EPAMAIL.EPA.GOV. Please include your fax number and/or
internet address. Offerors must ensure that they are on the mailing
list for this procurement by either writing to me at the address at the
end of this notice or E-mail me at LONG.BRIAN@EPAEMAIL.EPA.GOV. The
EPA's Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances continues
to have a requirement for program support services for the following:
1) to obtain software development, enhancement, operation and
maintenance support services; 2) to provide general purpose
computer/microcomputer Local Area Network (LAN) administration support
services such as trouble shooting, daily backups, server configuration
and reconfiguration, LAN software installation and maintenance, virus
and security protection, performance monitoring, and other LAN
administration functions; 3) to provide equipment maintenance and
repair support services; and 4) to provide Information and Help Desk
support services. This procurement will be processed as an 8(a)
competitive procurement. EPA anticipates that the contract will contain
a base period and three option periods totaling approximately 60
months. The solicitation and all associated documents will be
accessible via the Internet through EPA's Public Access Server.
Offerors who do not have electronic capability (i.e. unable to download
or upload information from or to a DOS compatible computer disk) may
pick up a hardcopy of the solicitation. Once the solicitation has been
issued, copies may be picked up from the Bid and Proposal Room, 3rd
Floor, Fairchild Building, 499 South Capitol Street, Washington, D.C.
20460, Mail Code: 3803-F. Vendors can electronically access and
download the listed documents through Internet Via File Transfer
Protocol (FTP) or a Gopher Server. It is the responsibility of the
vendor to periodically check the server. The internet address for FTP
is ftp.epa.gov. The internet address for the Gopher server is
gopher.epa.gov. Upon reaching the EPA Internet Gopher Menu, select the
