J -- REPLACE OBSOLETE SWITCHBOARDS AND MOTOR CONTROL CENTERS - BUILDINGS 44, 223, AND 5 SOL 9BJ33T07517B POC BETTY HOLT, Tel:713-483-4175 Contracting Officer:ROD ETCHBERGER, Tel:713-483-8530 This projects' base bid consists of replacing two switchboards and two motor control centers in Building 44. The switchboards are located in the first floor mechanical equipment room, 1M1T. They are DP-44-1 and DP-44-2, which are rated 1,600 ampere, 277/480 volt and 800 ampere, 120/208 volt, respectively. A 225-KVA transformer that feeds DP-44-2 shall be relocated. A top hat painted to match the new switchboards shall be fabricated to accept the existing conduits. The two motors control centers, MCC-44-1 and MCC-44-2 which are located in the first and second floor mechanical equipment rooms, respectively, shall be combined into one unit on the first floor. The new unit shall be called MCC-44-1 and it is rated 600 ampere, 480 volt. All equipment on the second floor originally fed via the old MCC-44-2 shall be routed to MCC-44-1 on the first floor. The two switchboards shall be furnished with electronic metering. Temporary power for the lighting and small hand tools shall be furnished by the contractor via a portable generator. Additive Alternative Bid No. 1 - This additive alternate shall replace the motor control center in Building 223. The new MCC-223-1 shall be 225 ampere, 480 volt, 3-phase, 3-wire, 60HZ., with a top hat painted to match the new MCC. A new 15KVA wall mounted transformer and 24 circuit wall mounted panel shall be provided to replace the units originally furnished within the old MCC. The new MCC shall be furnished with electronic metering.
