PROCUREMENT OPPORTUNITIES EXPO: ENTREPRENEURIAL SMALL BUSINESS EXPO -- HAMPTON, VA The National Small Business Council and the Directors of the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization announces the first annual Procurement Opportunities Expo for small, minority, women-owned businesses, and prime contractors. The event will be held on Monday, June 26, 1995, at the Holiday Inn, Hampton - Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia. This one-day event will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to give organizations an unparalleled opportunity to become educated about important new programs/policies within the Federal Government that will affect their business and future. The Keynote Address, scheduled for 9:00 a.m., to be given by Daniel Gill, Director of the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) at the Department of Defense, will focus on the federal government's effort to help small businesses. Immediately following, there will be a series of 7 seminars given by key procurement and federal officers from the six co-sponsoring agencies. Seminar topics will include Electronic-Commerce/Streamlining, Acquisition Reform, Current Legislation and Policy Issues, Subcontracting: Advantages vs. Disadvantages, Understanding the Complicated Government Terminology, Credit Card Program and Mentor-Protege. Federal personnel from the Norfolk, VA area and around the country will be attending this national outreach program.
