Office, 804-864-2547. The work to be performed includes, but is not
limited to, the following: The Contractor shall install the Government
furnished, high pressure steam to air heat exchanger and bypass piping
in the courtyard of Building 648. The work shall include transporting
the heat exchanger from Building 1247E, pouring a concrete slab in the
Building 648 courtyard, and placing the heater. The Contractor shall
attach the heat exchanger and bypass piping to the 4-inch transfer
line. Four-inch stainless steel piping is Government Furnished. Any
required, 4-inch stainless steel flanges and fittings are not
Government Furnished. The Contractor shall install 4-inch, Government
Furnished, wafer valve and low pressure (15 psig) steam piping
connecting to the heat exchanger. The Contractor shall procure and
install condensate sump pump and condensate return piping. Carbon
steel, steam piping and condensate piping and fittings are not
Government Furnished. The Contractor shall install 4-inch, Government
Furnished, pressure reducing control valve and controller downstream of
the steam heat exchanger. The Contractor shall install 12-inch carbon
steel piping downstream of the 4-inch pressure reducing control valve.
The piping shall be routed under the tunnel shell and along the far
side of the tunnel to its termination near the Building 648 Air Dryer
Tower. The 12-inch piping and fittings are not Government Furnished.
The Contractor shall install the manual, 12-inch, Government Furnished
wafer valve near the termination of the 12 inch piping. The Contractor
shall install the Government Furnished, 1-inch manual bleed valve after
the 12-inch wafer valve. The Contractor shall install the Government
Furnished, 12 inch by 6 inch pressure reducing control valve downstream
of the 12-inch wafer valve. The Contractor shall supply and install the
piping to connect the 12 inch by 6 inch control valve to the tunnel
piping. The Contractor shall install Government Furnished pressure
safety relief valves at the steam heat exchanger, after the 4-inch
pressure reducing control valve, and after the 12 inch by 6 inch
pressure reducing control valve. The Contractor shall also install
Government Furnished pressure relieving rupture disks on the steam line
feeding the steam heater and the air line connecting the 12 inch by 6
inch pressure reducing control valve to the tunnel piping. The
Contractor shall install pneumatic shop air lines to the pressure
reducing control valves. The Contractor shall paint all carbon steel
piping in accordance with specifications. For the flushing of the 12
inch line to Building 648, the Contractor shall reinstall the 12 inch
blank flange with a 6 inch stand off. After completion of the flushing,
the Contractor shall install the valves and reconnect all disassembled
piping connections as shown on the drawings. Contract duration 70
days--Estimated cost range between $100,000 and $250,000--All
responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the
Agency--Bid opening is approximate--Solicitation available
