Shaikh, (206) 764-4481 Perform cleanup of explosives-contaminated
groundwater, using granular, activated carbon adsorption. The
contaminants of concern range in concentration from 1560 ug/l for
trinitrotoluene (TNT), 1000 ug/l for 2,4-dinitrotoluene, 120 ug/l for
trinitrobenzene, and small amounts of other explosives. The groundwater
shall be extracted from depths of 115 and 125 feet, treated and
returned to the aquifer through infiltration fields. The water shall be
treated in two, high-flow, dual module adsorption units at 1300 gallons
per minute by installing pumps in an existing 12-inch well and install
new 12-inch and 14-inch wells. Construct a 2,500 sf pre-engineered
treatment plant building and associated mechanical and electrical
equipment. The water distribution system shall include approximately
600 feet of 4-inch buried PVC piping, 1,100 feet of 6-inch buried PVC
piping, 3,400 feet of 8-inch buried PVC piping, and 7,000 feet of
10-inch buried PVC piping. The spent carbon shall be disposed offsite
at a regeneration or incineration facility. Provide two years of
operation and maintenance of the treatment plant after the facility is
constructed and tested. Plans and specs available on or about 15 July
1995 at no charge per set. No individual sheets are available.
Documents will be issued on a first come, first served basis until
supply is exhausted. No phone requests accepted. Refer to IFB Number
DACW67-95-B-0076 when ordering. Requests must be in writing and must be
received before bid documents will be mailed. Requests may be FAXed to

may be picked up from the Plans Room Monday thru Friday between the
hours of 7:30 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. Submit requests by 30 June 1995.
Estimated dollar value is in the range of $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 and
completion period is 1150 days. Standard Industrial Classification
Code 1629. Project is open to both large and small business. NOTICE TO
