28 -- REPAIR/OVERHAUL AIRCRAFT ENGINES AND EQUIPMENT SOL REPAIR/OVERHAUL ACFT ENGINES POC Jane C. Beam tel: 202/358-0405 NASA intends to issue an RFP for the repair/overhaul and rental (as required) of aircraft engines and accessory equipment which includes the Rolls-Royce Dart Engine, Model MK 529-8X/8Z, inclusive of the required Quick Engine Change (QEC) items; Dowty Rotol Propeller Model R 184/4-30-4/50; Dowty Rotol Gear Box PTG 14/30 and PTG 14/31, as required for use on Government-owned Gulfstream G-159 Aircraft; and repair/overhaul of the Pratt and Whitney PT6A-42 engine and the Hartzell Propeller, Model HC-B3TN-3 as required for use on Government-owned Beechcraft King Air B200 aircraft. All maintenance, inspections, repairs and modifications shall be performed in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Part 43, utilizing current manufacturer's specifications, recommendations and repair instructions. Contracts will only be awarded to firms with an authentic FAA-Certified Repair Station Certificate (Form 8000-1) for the overhaul and repair of these engines. PT6A-42 prime contractor must be able to support aircraft located in California and in the Eastern United States. The provision of rental engines, propellers, and gearboxes (short term/no notice/unscheduled) to Government locations is of major importance. The Government reserves the right to award separate contracts for the overhaul/repair of the Rolls-Royce and Pratt and Whitney engines. The anticipated period of performance is one year with four additional one-year priced options. The procurement will be conducted using full and open competition. The anticipated subcontracting goals for this procurement are eight percent of contract value for small disadvantaged businesses and fifteen percent of contract value for small (non-disadvantaged) businesses.
