70 -- BOOM3C STEREOSCOPIC DISPLAY SYSTEM SOL RFO2-36451(MXD) DUE 072895 POC Contact Marie Dorish, 415/604-3420, e-mail address to Marie_ Dorish@qmgate.arc.nasa.gov NASA-Ames Research Center intends to procure on a non- competitive basis under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1) from Fakespace, Inc., 4085 Campbell Avenue, Menlo Park, CA 94025, the following: One (1) Boom3C Stereoscope Display System, to include a programming library, 90-day warranty and one year of telephone-based support. This display supports up to 1280 X 1024 pixels/eye resolution and must meet the following requirements: 1.) Device must display 1280 X 1024 resolution monoscopic, 1280 X 960 resolution stereo scopic, and 640 X 480 stereoscopic, tru-color images at 60 frames per second. 2.) This device must provide six degrees of freedom, allowing 3-D translation and 3-D rotation within an annular cylinder. Translation accuracy must be (=0.16 inch and (=0.1 degrees. 3.) Low latency in both dsiplay and positioning are crucial. The position must be available at least 60 times per second. Measurements reported must be stable, noiseless, and not affected by the presence of nearby metal or moderate electro magnetic, acoustic, or optical fields. 4.) Device should also contain small joystick and a two position toggle switch that will enable user to interact with software interface (over RS232 serial data lines). 5.) This system must be compatible with the video modes and signaling provided by Silicon Graphics Inc., Onyx Reality Engine 2 graphics subsystem. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. The antici pated release date of this solicitation is June 26, 1995, and the anticipated proposal due date is July 28, 1995.
