Also, the application of testing method is described, on rims of cups, mugs etc., which come into contact with lips. 5. Title and number of pages of the notified document: Draft Czech Standard (CSN) 70 0540 Determination of Metal Release of Lead and Cadmium from Consumer Ware, Part 1 - Method of Test, and Part 2 - Limits. 6. Description of content: In Part 1, the test method is described by which the extent of release of metals from ware with silicate surface is determined. Chemicals used for the determination, preparation of samples, devices and utensils, calibration of measuring apparatuses, computation formula. In Part 2, the limits for respective metal leach are given. All provisions of the standard are mandatory. 7. Objective and rationale: Consumer's health protection. 8.
