holes and the installation of monitoring wells in south- central Rock
County in southwestern Minnesota. The test holes shall be drilled from
land surface to the top of the Sioux Quartzite hard rock surface. The
monitoring wells will be installed in buried sand and gravel layers in
the glacial drift and Split Rock Creek Formation. In the proposed
drilling area, about 200 to 350 feet of glacial drift overlies about
250 to 400 feet of Split Rock Creek Formation deposits. The glacial
drift deposits consist of glacial till and clay with interbedded sand
and gravel layers. The Split rock Creek Formation is composed of layers
of fine to coarse well-sorted quartzose sand interbedded with layers of
siltstone, shale, and claystone. All responsible sources may submit an
