The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, Virginia, requires engineering support of the AEGIS Shore Facility Master Switch Controllers (MSC) manufactured by Purvis Systems Inc. These systems are located at the AEGIS Training Center, Dahlgren, Virginia and at the AEGIS Combat Systems Center, Wallops Island, Virginia. The contractor shall provide software engineering support for the maintenance, upgrade, and expansion of existing and new MSC applications. Software work will include efforts to improve the MSC Operator Graphical User Interface as well as overall software performance improvement. The contractor shall update and improve documentation, software tools and utilities, and conduct studies and make recommendations on new systems compatibility. The contractor shall provide site support maintenance services via telephone, FAX, and on-site service visits. The contractor shall provide MSC operator training for VAX/VMS Systems Management. The contractor shall evaluate and make recommendations for new hardware for the MSC for the purpose of improving system performance, capability, and reliability. The Navy intends to award a 5 year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contract with both term and completion delivery orders. The total level of effort for this contract is estimated at 3 manyears. The solicitation will be issued in June 1995.
