the action code on Pre-Award Synopsis published in CBD on June 2, 1995
to R: Sources Sought and issue the following as action code P:
Pre-Solicitation Notice: The contractor shall provide all materials,
tools, labor, supervision, and expertise for the following scope of
work which consists of construction of an all new Mutiplex/addressable
Fire Alarm System, followed by demolition of the existing old fire
alarm system. The new system shall be fully operational prior to
demolition of the existing. The work includes a new multiplex/
addressable system with all wiring, conduit devices and panels,
demolition of the existing system, as well as, new wall construction at
the fire alarm control panel room and all patching and repairing
(including working in and around miscellaneous removal of asbestos
containing materials) required by the new and demolished systems.
Contractor shall be a Certified Fire Alarm Contractor, with a Low
Voltage Systems California Class C-7 License or equal. The scope of
work consists of providing all materials, tools, labor, supervision,
and expertise to complete design, engineering, construction, securing
the required permitting by Fire Authorities including equipment
approval and installed system testing and other requirements in
accordance with the Contract requirements and national standards. This
procurement will be made using the two-step sealed bid method. Step
one (1) requires that the contractor complete a pre-qualification
questionnaire, which will be issued to those submitting written
requests. The completed questionnaire must be received by July 20,
1995. All questionnaires will be evaluated and only those determined to
be qualified will be issued solicitation packages. Those that do
qualify will receive a notice of unacceptability. Step-two (2) sealed
bids will be evaluated in accordance with FAR Part 14, Sealed Bidding.
The work site is the Chet Holifield Federal Building, Laguna Niguel,
California. The estimated cost range of this project is between
$1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. This procurement will be made under
the Small Business Competitivess Demonstration Program (Open to Large
and Small Business) Pre-Qualification Questionnaire will be available
on or about June 20, 1995, written requests are required and can be
