Pilson, Contracting Officer, (202) 634-4567 The U.S. Department of Energy intends to enter into a contract with SAS Institute, Inc., SAS Campus Way, Cary, North Carolina 27513 for renewal of existing maintenance agreement for software and vendor support of the proprietary software product on the 9021/580 Base SAS, ETS, FSP, Graph, and BaseS2K and on the 9221/221 Base SAS and Graph; DEC VAX 6000/Model 410 (Class 'D') VMS Operation System, for the period October 1, 1995 through September 30, 1996. This notice of intent is not a request for Competitive Proposals, however, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a Competitive Procurement. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under Authority of FAR 6.302. See Note 22. (0156)
