Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180-6199 99 -- PROCUREMENT OF CORE-LOC MODEL ARMOR UNITS POC Contract
Specialist, Sandy Staggs, 601-634-3698 The USAE Waterways Experiment
Station (WES) intends to award a contract to Tiger Sea Products Ltd
under authority 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) for providing CORE-LOC model
armor units needed for physical model investigations of rubble mound
structures. CORE-LOC (in real work) is a concrete armor shape developed
for use as armoring on breakwaters. In model fashion the armor units
are used in reproducing model breakwaters. Tiger Sea Products is the
developer of the model units. The contract period will be one year.
Several sizes of CORE-LOC model units are required which range between
100G to 300G. In order to meet project requirements the CORE-LOC model
units must be precision made under stringent tolerances where the
linear dimensions vary by no more than plus or minus 1.5%, specific
gravity varies by no more than plus or minus 1.5% and the unit weight
varies by no more than plus or minus 2.5%. The units must be
constructed from weather-resistant epoxy resins that are impermeable,
UV resistance, and capable of withstanding temperature extremes between
minus 30 degrees centigrade to plus 45 degrees centigrade. The total
number of individual units required is approximately 5600 and the
minimum number of units required at each size is 500. In the event no
other sources are found, the U.S. Government intends to award a
contract to Tiger Sea Products Ltd. Solicitation documents are not
