A -- NEW BEARING TECHNOLOGY TO THE HMMWV SOL DAAE0795RX014 POC For a Solicitation copy or for information on this procurement, call Bertram Scott (810) 574-6504 This procurement is for a change to contract DAAE07-93 C-R055 with powdered materials application. The objecti VE of the application of new bearing technology to the HMMWV program is to include GC propeller shaft U-jointswith PMA solid crosses for HMMWV demonstrations. Under the existing application of new bearing technology to the HMMWV program contract, powdered materials applicati on developed, fabricated and tested GC cups for the exi sting HMMWV U-joints. This effort will expand the appli cation of new bearing technology for the high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle (HMMWV) to develop, fabric Ate and test solid U-joints (crosses) with universal gcu-joint cups. The benefits of this follow-on effort will optimize the HMMWV U-joint so that It could be produc ible and available for retrofit on existing HMMWV trucks. This follow-on action will be negotiated on a sole source basis with powdered materials application and will be executed by a modification to their existing contract.
