Electronic Commerce Training Schedule for DOD Suppliers - Acquisition reform including electronic commerce/electronic data interchange (EC/EDI) is about changing the way the Department of Defense conducts its business and is the future for the Department of Defense. EC/EDI will improve the Department's way of conducting business. Initial efforts have begun with the implementation of Electronic Commerce in Contracting. Contracting via EC/EDI will require DoD suppliers to access and respond to requests for quotes electronically. To help during the transition to EC, the DoD has established a network of Electronic Commerce Resource Centers (ECRCs) across the country who will be offering training courses in how to conduct electronic commerce with the government. Training topics include: Getting Started with Electronic Commerce, Business Opportunities with DoD through EDI, How to select a VAN, and Issues on EDI Implementation.
