COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 7,1995 PSA#1362UHF SATCOM DEMAND ASSIGNMENT MULTIPLE ACCESS (DAMA) CONTROL SYSTEM
STANDARD DUE 063095. POC Mr. Sam George, (908) 532-7715. This
announcement is a resolicitation of government and industry
organizations interested in providing comments to the draft UHF SATCOM
DAMA Control System Standard. Significant time has elapsed since a 14
Feb 1995 announcement, similar to this announcement, was prematurely
placed in the CBD. It is important to emphasize that responses to that
earlier 14 Feb 1995 announcement are now regarded as dated.
Organizations that want to provide comments must respond anew in
accordance with this new following announcement. The Department of
Defense (DOD) is soliciting government and industry comments to a draft
interface standard that will document the technical criteria for
interoperability and performance of the integrated 5-kHz and 25-kHz UHF
satellite communications (SATCOM) demand assigned multiple access
(DAMA) multi-channel network control systems procured by DOD. Such
systems will implement the concept of decentralized resource management
and centralized system control endorsed by the Joint Staff. This
standard (currently designated MIL-STD-188-185) will be interoperable
with the existing waveform structures defined in MIL-STD-188-182,
Interoperability Standard for 5-kHz UHF DAMA Terminal Waveform, and
MIL-STD-188-183, Interoperability Standard for 25-kHz UHF TDMA/DAMA
Terminal Waveform. Government and industry organizations interested in
contributing comments to this standard are requested to notify Mr. Sam
George, in writing, by 30 June 1995 at DISA/JIEO Center For Standards,
ATTN: JEBBC, Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703-5613. All information provided by
industry shall be nonproprietary and at no cost to the government. All
organizations participating in this effort must do so at their own
expense. This announcement will not obligate DISA/JIEO Center For
Standards or any other government organizations to reimburse any
participant's expenses. Only written responses to this announcement
will be accepted. DOD cannot assure that any procurement will result
from the standard developed. Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0664 19950606\SP-0003.MSC)
