The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) has a requirement for shipyard work to assist the US Navy's research projects at the Navy Technology Center for Safety and Survivability (NTCSS). The labor and services described herein shall be provided by the contractor at the facilities of NTCSS. The center's facilities consist of those facilities at and on Little Sand Island in Mobile Bay, Mobile, AL, including the research vessel, ex-USS SHADWELL (LSD-15) as moored. The contractor shall provide personnel for cleaning and preservation. It is anticipated that the contractor will respond to delivery orders to be issued as needed during the period of performance. It is expected that the labor will consist of, but not be limited to, welder combination maintenance and laborer. Period of performance is estimated to be one year with two (2) one year option periods. Potential contractors will be allowed to inspect the affected facilities during a site visit.
